| When Cory and I got engaged and began thinking about our wedding and more importantly, our ceremony, we were greatly challenged by the fact that we came from two very different religious backgrounds. Cory is Jewish and I am Protestant and both of us feel strongly about the traditions each of our religions has to offer. We came to the decision that we would like to combine the best of both religions and ultimately have an interfaith ceremony. We were told that it would be nearly impossible to find both a minister and a rabbi (particularly a rabbi) that would perform the ceremony.
Our discovery of Rabbi Monte Sugarman was a blessing in so many ways. Not just for the fact that he would perform our interfaith ceremony but that he also provided guidance and wisdom leading up to our wedding date. While our love and faith in each other is strong and steady, Cory and I had many questions prior to getting married. Monte was an incredible resource in guiding us and is very well educated and experienced in other religions outside of Judaism. He advised us not only in the content of our ceremony but provided resources that Cory and I will be able to access during our marriage for years to come.
Rabbi Sugarman is more than just the officiate of our wedding, he is a genuine individual who took interest and a great deal of time to get to know Cory and I and we look forward to his friendship, guidance and wisdom in the future.
